A degree in Economics and Business Studies led to professional qualification at PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving internally into corporate finance, followed by a move into industry with Grand Met, now Diageo, in 1992.
“My business experience covers turnaround work, problem solving, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, with particular emphasis on SMEs.
“We illuminate the path that we recommend a business owner should follow to achieve his objectives – objectives that we have helped formulate in some cases – and we also make sure that a client knows how to travel along that path.

Simon Mollett

Simon Mollett

Director (since 1996)

Trained and qualified at PricewaterhouseCoopers, followed by a PhD in Geophysics from Cambridge University. He then moved into corporate finance, first at Schroders then at PwC as a corporate finance partner.

“My specialist interest is in technology-based companies, those where a degree of ‘know-how’ is required.

“Within the firm, I specialise in technical issues – law and regulations. I also write official Guideline papers for the Institute’s Corporate Finance Faculty, where I am a long-standing member of the Faculty’s technical committee.”

Director (since 1998)

Grounded in family business with Moores Rowland and Longcrofts followed by work at PricewaterhouseCoopers in business services and corporate finance.

Frank Lilley

Consultant

Frank retired in 2017 having been a Director of Beechcroft since 1994. He now acts as a consultant to the business. His professional background includes an Oxford University degree in History and Modern Languages; partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Swiss associate; moved on as head of European corporate finance at Savory Milln; then a Director of James Capel Corporate Finance.

“I wanted greater independence and opportunities to work hands on with small and medium sized firms, and to offer them a combination of UK and cross-border financial advice from experienced corporate financiers to whom such companies normally cannot get access. Beechcroft is a different advisor in that we are a group of entrepreneurs advising clients who are often also entrepreneurs.
